I am likeing the 589 m/t's also.. maybe 26" on ITP cast aluminum? Maybe just 25". Where is a good place to get a packaged deal on them? I can't seem to find too many sites with good prices

Hey Johnpaul, I am running 25" x 12" Spidertrax on the back of my 660 Grizz on Douglas wheels. That's 49" wide. I put the stock rear tires on the front, also on Douglas wheels. I am convinced the crappy stock tires are there strictly because they are very lightweight. Yamaha wanted the Grizz to come in at 600 lbs and this was an easy place to save weight.
I don't see much, hell any mud, and the spidertrax, which are supposed to be good in mud too, are working great in the sand and rocks. We even took it to Pismo last summer. It climbed everything out there just fine.
It so outperforms our friends Rubicon in the rough stuff, and is leaps ahead of Sportsman and H.O.'s
.....My son rolled the Grizz the first day we had it. The Widetrack treatment was a must. This Grizz has to keep up with my DS and my son's Raptor. No other utility is even close, though I bet the Prarie and the new Rincon would keep up too. After a long trail section, the Grizz will be maybe one minute behind, the sportsman and H.O. are 5+ minutes behind.
On a small whooped out MX track, The grizz was 23 seconds behind my son's Raptor, on a two minute track. Haven't had a chance to time the Sportsmans yet. And we are keeping the anti-roll bar right where it is.
I think Spidertrax in front will be the next addition.
......WE too like the "Sport" in the Sport Utility. "Iaho Laula",,Wider is better. The only other 25" x12" x12" tire I found was the SuperSwamper, also an excellent tire, I had them way back on my AutoCat. Wider is better, taller and wider is pointless unless you are mudding. that's funny because i have front set of douglas rims coming tommorow. with 489 titan , since i was looking for weight savings tryed to stay with 2 or 4 ply tires.
with my minor motor mods and lighting up the grizz about 80 lbs shoud rip with the best of them .
hmf slip on
k/n filter
air box mods
jet kit
hope to test this weekend. be trying 180 main jet

The place that I do all my wheel and tire purchasing is East Kentucky MS. Ask for John if you call, my experience has been tops.

check out the GBC Dirt Devils or Gators, they are good aggressive and strong tires, the only down fall is they are heavy because they are 6ply but with that said they are very strong!
