Raptor jetting
#1
I'm wondering what the problem is with my Raptor. The Intake boots blew off, so I got the updated ones, and I can't get them to stay on too well either. Wondering if it's the jetting or what. It doesn't start worth crap when it's cold either. I have a White Bro's pipe on it too. Thought that might help. Thanks

I've had no problems with my boots, so I can't help you with the best attachment method. But I do recall seeing it addressed in previous threads. Best to do a search on carb, boots, etc.
But I can tell you that getting the technical staff at dynojet to prescribe the correct jets for your particular setup is critical to getting rid of backfire, hesitation, and low power.

Check your idle speed this is a normal cause for carb boots popping off. If its to low when you let of the gas for a second at low rpm then get back on it it starts to stall and backfires through the carbs. The raptor is et lean at an idle from the factory and there is a warranty fix with new specs on this with the new boots.
The hard start is most likely caused by the intake valves being too tight. This is another common problem, and probably part the reason your carb boots are blowing off. Good luck, hope this helps.

Knock on wood. (knock knock)
Ive had none of these problems. They must have put my bike together well. 10 months old and sweet, very sweet. This weekend will be my first ride with the Alba pipe kit. Can't wait. Good luck with your problem.

Its best to have the service manual at hand because you need to set the top dead center etc and to obtain that you need to have certain marks on the rotor aligned with the crank case cover etc. I paid 59.00 bucks for mine i believe. Worth every penny. Good luck
