Can anyone give me some input on bolt on mufflers for my Grizzly 660? First is the power gain worth it? Second, if it is worth it, which brand is best with a spark arester. I'm a firefighter and don't want to be setting the woods a blaze!

From what I've been reading on Highlifter's Forum the HMF Engineering slip on seems to be the most popular, you will probably want the to add the quiet ccore to the pipe with the spark arrestor, as it is loud without the quiet core. They say the spark arrestor is not approved, what ever that means. Supposed to boost the bottom end, and from what I've read this pipe does the job, especialy with a K&N air filter, but HMF recommends rejetting the carb to a richer setting.

From everything I've read, there doesn't appear to be alot of difference, on paper, between the high end after market pipes. With that said, I can't say I really see Grizz owners crowing about the Biggun, but I do see a lot of happy campers who have the HMF. From corresponding with a lot of these folks, I'm going to be going the HMF slip on route myself. I also believe that any aftermarket pipe that doesn't require rejetting most likely isn't worth the money. That would tell me that your not really getting that much more flow.

Just my 2 cents...

Have to agree with Silver Bear, if the pipe does not require any bigger jets, probably is not doing much.
