Mine will blow a little smoke too. The color is black. During the cold months I have to use the choke to get it to start the let it idle for a little. I then take the choke off and let idle a little more and then rev it a few times. That is when I see my smoke. So I think mine is caused by carbing up using the choke and loading up between a few quik revs.

Does your smoke go away after warming up?

Looks like I change my oil three times to your one.
I have the time to do it so I go for it.

Are you running Rich ? When I first rejetted I went by the recomendations of K&N, But the clip setting was wrong. Dynojet said 2nd clip setting from the top on both needles( K&N paper work said 4th ). Who's jet kit are yopu using ?

If its blue it's oil, if its dark black then it is gas. My Mojave does this also, but it goes away after a minute or so, I think that it is oil in the bottom of the airbox, and when I first start it it burns that oil. Does the crankcase breather from the Raptor go into the airbox? If so try checking that.

I'm using a K&N also. I went by the recomendations also, but I don't think something is right. Did u replace ur pilot jet? I can't get it to start without coast starting it, and if i don't keep my throttle up it wants to stall. Don't know what the problem is. Can ya help?. thanks

Well that sounds like compression to me. My dirtbike did the same thing (had to keep on the gas or else it would stall out right away). Try kicking it (if the raptors have a kick start, im new to the atvs) and if it feels like it is pretty easy then its deffinitly compression. I was unlucky and ended up needing a whole new top end. My rings cracked and shredded the piston and cylinder. If i were you I would look into it before you end up having to dish out some cash. I could be completely wrong on this, but from my experiences its the compression.

Thanks for your reply. Raptor don't have a kick start, (would be nice)so I can't do that. I'm gonna look into it. Like U said, I don't want to dish any more cash than I have too. Thanks

Yeah I probly don't change my oil as often as I should, but i mad a mistak by putting every 8 tanks in there. It's definately more often than that. It usually depends on how much I run it and how hard i run it.

Start by going back to stock. Then add your mods one at a time and see what you get. This should help to find the problem. It's a pain but it will work to isolate the problem. Or just by resetting the needles.
