Anyone care to revisit the Dura Blue Lone Star axle issue?

I'm leaning towards the LSR axle because of the earlier posts I've read regarding Dura Blues bending or breaking. Also, I don't have the $ to cough up for the LSR hubs. Are the people with the LSR Axles running stock hubs? If so, are they loose on the splines of the axle? In other posts I've read about people using plasti-kote or JB weld to shore-up hubs that don't fit the splines properly. Is this still the fix or has somebody found a better way? What about axle nuts? Stock, LSR or other brand? Who has seen good prices for the LSR Axcalibur? Thanks in advance for any answers to my rambling questions.

I contacted LSR and they blamed the stock hubs...according to them you need the LSR hubs to eliminate this.
i was using locke tite. But they would keep loosening. i eventualy tourqed them down and made sure to place the pin in the slot closest to the nut. thinking the nut will back alittle. i've got the pin resting right against it so it can't back off...even a hair.
i had to slip a pipe over my ratchet to get enough leverage. but several months have past and its still tighter than a Nuns "blank".
I thought there was another company releasing a Raptor Axle. The name eludes me...but i thought it began with an "R". can anyone else expand on this

I have an LSR axcalibur on my R, with newer 400EX hubs. Mine isn't lose at all. I really don't think it would be a good idea to run JB weld in there, because if you ever bend/brake that axle, you will be forced to buy new ones.
I'd pick LSR over Durablue any day. $200 more isn't worth the trouble of breaking and replacing your axle.

RPM (team-rpm.com) makes the Dominator axle but I'm not sure if they've released a Raptor-specific version yet. I'm not familiar with RPM products so I didn't really consider this axle. I'm not saying I wont, I just want to avoid the problem of having the axle longer on one side of the swingarm like I've read in earlier posts.

i forgot to mention...i ride with 6 other raptors and they all have Dura-blu's. I do know they are always cryng about the axle nuts loosening on theirs. some have even purchased the Dura-blu axle nut and still are experiencing the problem.

I've got the durablue axle on a posi axle locknut on my X. As long as you spread the lock nut out as far as possible and put locktite on the allen bolt that seperates the 2 halves you will be trouble free. I'm guessing people are forgetting to put locktite on the bolt. I haven't had any problems so far so all I'm comming from my experiences.

I have the LSR axle also and I have had the hubs loosen also. I did as Raptor660RNH did. Breakover bar and some adrenaline and now their tight. Hey Rapto660RNH are your friends dura-blu's any wider than our LSR's? At outside to outside of my 18x11x8 Turf Tamers it's 47 7/8 inches. I would like to be at the 50 inch maximum in the rule book. I may have to fabricate some one inch wheel spacers for each side, as I've never seen any advertised. Let me know, if you can, about the width of the dura-blu's. Thanks
