i raced a DS 2 weeks ago. both machines are stock. i had him out of the hole, 2nd, 3rd, and fourth. he actually hooked harder than i did. i dont think they are as good as everyone thinks they are. a tank is not a drag car,(or a quad for that matter). raptor all day, period.

 

a piped raptor is about as fast as a stock ds650.

 

A DS -vs- a Raptor........mod for mod or stock for stock the Rappy always gets the holeshot they are equal through the mid range and the DS has the top end hands down. Now this only applies with riders that are equally as good. Riders are ALWAYS a factor. When my DS was stock out of 10 Rappys in my area there was only one that could out run me every day. This Rappy had a 15 year old kid on it and he weighs 100Lbs less than me, so there was a 180Lbs. difference. They put a guy on that same Rappy that weighed as much as me and the results were Holeshot went to the Rappy, mid we were the same and top was all DS. Now that my brothers DS and mine have our mods the only bike around to out run us is a totally tricked out Banshee and even there on a long run I'm catching him on top.
