What does a KDX200 compare to ???

It's kind of hard to compare a bike to an ATV. I rode fast dirt bikes for 30 years, and just switched to Quads last year. A KDX200 will probably top out at about 60 with stock gearing, but it will beat just about any stock quad in acceleration (probably about equal to a stock Raptor). I can beat most of my buddies on smooth trails with corners with my Raptor, but when we come to any bumpy stuff, their suspension and small width leaves you in the dust. It's also easy for a bike to dodge larger bumps and whoops, it' s tires are only about 4 inches wide. It's also hard for a bike rider to keep up with you when you are putting out a giant dust cloud behind you (bikes don't do that near as much) :*).
I shocked the crap out of a friend on my old KTM 500 MX two stroke when I kept up with him in a twisty dry stream bed with my old modified Polaris Scrambler 400 (in four wheel drive, and sand).
Good luck,
Lorrin

KDX200s are alot faster than you gave credit to. I would say it is more like 75 on top end. I had one for a summer and it would always beat my neighbors modified banshee on takeoff and whenever he would shift into 5th and 6th he would pass me. His was modified severally so i know this bike was fast stock. If he has a carb, i would say it could definately do 75 if not 80.

The KDX200 will beat about any quad in the woods if the rider is good. The KDX200 for the money is a great buy.
Wish I could tell you what the top end is on our 200 but it keeps right up with our Raptor and once it gets out in front in the woods it usually stays there.

I raced with a couple bikes last sunday. One was a kdx 200 with pipe & silencer.(that is all i saw) The other was a banshee with pipes, silencers,a head, some different pistons, and that is all he told me. Guy on the banshee was kinda big.I have a DS 650. And when we all raced. who ever got the jump off the line won. Our three bikes ran real even I beat them about as many time as they beat me. and after we were moving no one could pull on no one. We didnt race in a real big field we could only prolly get to about 65-70 mph before we had to shut down.

I would race him. Even If I knew I was gonna get beat. Just see how your bike stands up to others. Even if he has a faster bike if he can't drive good it wont matter. I would say that you would completly destory a stock KDX 200. Just my .02
