I just got back this weekend from a trip to the mountains and have to say Im a bit dissapointed on my bear...

I know that high altitudes have a noticeable bad effect on machines, there were 8 of us up in the mountain, but my Grizz 2002 was the one that had the most sputtering problems I mean I had to accelarate very very slightly and slowly so the bear wouldnt die on me!!

The altititude was 11,500 ft (3,500m) I know its a lot but the other quads did not have as much problems as I did!! The other quads would get stuck in the mud/snow and could spin the wheels at high revs, me on the other hand could not! (and no, I was not in diff lock mode!) This really got on my nerves! 660 Grizz Bear beaten by a honda Rancher 350??!!!! Come on!!!!!! IS THE MIGHTY BEAR AFFRAID OF HEIGHTS?

The other quads were: Polaris 500 h.o. 3 of them, Rubicon 500, Foreman 400, Rancher 350 and a Traxter 500. Man!! Well finally I made it to the top but feeling really frustrated with this!!!

Does anybody know what to do? Or why does it have more problems than these other quads?

Please help!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
I too was wondering how the Grizzly preforms in the mountains since I have been looking at purchasing one.
I know I must re-jet my 500Cat when we go to the mountains or much above 10,000ft. It runs, however not very well.
I know of other brands that do not re-jet and seem not to have much problem.
Anyone else have experience or advice on the Grizzly at high altitudes?
