I am currently looking to sell my 2001 400ex and purchase a 2001 or newer YZ250. I was wondering if I would fit on a yz 250, and also if it would have enough power to haul me around and still allow me to jump decently etc. I am approximately 6 ft. tall and weigh around 230 lbs. any feed back would be appreciated. thank you, jon

I am 5'8 140 pounds and I ride a kx 80 (am selling it for a blaster soon though). It is completely stock and can ride wheelies in 4th gear without the use of the clutch. Just hit powerband and lift slightly on the handlebars and im off. I couldnt imagine the power a 250 cranks out becuase I am extrememly amazed at the power my 80cc engine puts out. I would say that it hits somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 mph and I can destroy any quad around in a drag race. I almost hate to sell it. So my answer would be, how high do you feel like going and how fast? It will do both im sure.

A YZ250 2-stroke bike will be powerful enough. These things are wickedly fast and will outperform ANY quad in existence anywhere and anytime.
It's power will be quite a surprise compared to your old 400EX.

A KX80 go 70mph? Dont think so. Beat any quad in drag? Wrong again. Dont get me wrong they do haul **** for bein a little 80, I think they pump out 18hp at rw. My little bro has a 01 yz80 and it does pretty good up against my 400ex with me riding the 80 and i weigt 180lbs.

My nephew rides a 2001 YZ 250. He's 5ft 10" 160lbs or so. I'm 6' 230-240 it hauls my azz around with plenty of power to spare. It actualy scares the shight out of me.

Well if you think not then why is it that I can beat my friend on his Banshee. He races and placed 5th at the track last season overall. It has an FMF pipe and silencer and alot of other mods that I dont even know where to begin. I race him up a small hill for a good 200 yards and I am about 3 lengths on him at the end of 150 but then its about dead even if him not slightlu ahead of me at the finish. I was just figuireativly speaking. I mean i know i cant kick any quads *** with an 80. I was just trying to give the guy an example.
