I have heard Kodiak's are afraid of water, so I put mine to the test. I drove through a creek and had the water over my fenders, and muffler. I had no problems at all.I barely gave mine gas, and it went right through the creek. My friend's Rubicon had a hard time through. Has anybody had a problem with thier Kodiak in water? IF so, what happened?

My buddies wife took mine through a mudhole that came about 4-5 inches above the floorboards. When we gut it out, it would rev really high but wouldn't budge. We let it dry out a little, and I even tried the reving it up in nuetral trick. It worked a little bit. It would then rev out, with a max speed of about 3 MPH.

I didn't want to blow it up, so we towed it home. I took the belt housing off of it, and there was about 5 pounds of mud in the clutch workings. It took about two hours, and five cans of brake parts cleaner to rid the clutches of all the mud. It ran fine after that, until I took it through a small puddle, and the belt was slipping again, but no mud in the system this time.

I now keep it on dry land.

Sorry to hear about that. Maybe this is an improvement for 2002. When I went through the water hole, I gave it as much gas as I would if it hadn't had any water at all. IT went through like it was nothing.

I've had my 00 in mud and water up to the gas tank more times then I should have. It has never missed a lick. I did put dielectric grease on the plug to stop it from sputtering. If a Kodiak is taking on water, something is bad wrong with it as mine and the 3-4 people I know who have one have never taken on water. You do have to keep an eye on the tranny air intake to make sure it is tight. Mine has come loose a few times but never came off.

My wife had her 2002 Kodiak in the mud and water up to her headlights a coule of weeks ago. The black beast never missed a beat. I'd say they are most certainly not afraid of water.
