I put my K&N Powerup kit in lastnight, which consisted of a Dynojet Stage2 jet kit and K&N filter with outerwear. I still have stock exhaust, so I went with 142/144 as outlined in the instructions. It starts fine, runs great except that the idle is rough. I have the mixture screws set at 3 turns out. The idle seems low, and it doesn't get much better when it warms up. The choke seems to have no effect on the idle??

I called Dynojet, and they stated that it sounded like either the idle circuit was plugged or I have an intake leak... Anyone run into this problem before? I ran it for about 30 minutes last night, and it's a monster everywhere else, but it doesn't like to idle. I bumped the idle up slightly, but my concern is that the choke has no effect on idle? It used to idle up when I choked it, now, nothing?

Any help would be appreciated.

Check for intake leaks, open the top of the left carb to see if the choke is working properly....the hole in front should be closed off when the choke is'nt engaged. Next check for plugged idle circuit(s).

Should I be able to see the choke plunger moving inside there? The cable moves, but I can't tell about the plunger (not the slide).

Yes, you can see the plunger closing the hole off as you turn the choke off (the right carb does'nt have this hole for the choke). It's easy to get the choke/throttle lines tangled upon assembly....this can make the choke cable "drag".

Thanks for the info. I pulled the choke assembly apart, and it was full of garbage. The spring was broken and twisted also. I guess I'll be ordering new parts tomorrow, but that should fix the problem

Good to hear you found the problem. I would fix the cable so the plunger is closed and ride this weekend.....no sense in the dino sitting when it needs to be railing throught the woods over a little thing like the choke:

Well, I stopped by the hardware store tonight and picked up a spring. I was able to fix this easily for 78 cents
