Raptor Radials or 400EX Radials, Which Have More Bite?
#1
I've heard that the radial tires on the 400EX and the Raptor hook up better than most sport tires.
The question is which one should I try, the Raptor tires or the 400EX tires?
I'm more concerned with straight line traction than turning ability.
Which of the two have more bite for dry, hard pack conditions, with loose dust, dirt, tiny stones or dirt pebbles, torn up grass, etc?
Which of the two have more bite for sandy conditions?
Whcih of the two have more bite on thin grass with very dry base?
Thanks.

Since I own both quads w/ both tires, I'll make it easy. It's a tie!!!!!!!!!Honestly my group does not run paddles at the dunes. We have 6 400ex's. The radial tires are amazingly good in the sand on each machine. I race my Raptor on hard packed and the Dunlops are excellent. Hey it's a tie like I said!!

I am currently on my second set of Ohtsu 501 Radial tires for the rear of my Banshee. I can say that these have been by far the best tire I've tried, so far, in terms of traction. I haven't tried the Dunlop Radial yet, but if I can find some as cheap as the Ohtsu, then I will probably give them a try.
The only draw back to the Ohtsu radial is the softness of the tire. They ain't the most durable tire made. I have poked a stick through the side wall of one.
They do provide some of the best traction in sand, hard pack, and grassy terrain that I've seen.

Rog
