Has anyone out there got any idea as to how they can identify the year of a quad. Recently bought a banshee and need some stuff for it, however I dont know what year it is so the parts are a little bit complicated to get. Cheers

 

Without bringing it in anywhere, try calling any Yam dealership and tell them the colour of it, and that should atleast give you a ball park year if not the exact year.

On the frame somewhere, there is a vehicle identification number. Find it, write it down and call a Yamaha dealer. Also on a Raptor anyway, they have a model number of the bike on the air box lid. Maybe a banshee is the same.

 

Find the vin # and count over to the 10th digit which will be a letter. That letter will tell you what year the quad is. All of the manf. started doing this in 1980, starting with an A. I don't think that on most quads that it don't matter what year that you have because they havn't changed anything on them. From 87 to 88 they changed a few things, but after 88 just the plastic colors. I think.
