I know another jetting question...I am sorry! I am a little confused here and I know somone can explain this. I was told to run 160/165's jets with no other carb mods. What does everyone here think? I have an 02 and I am in the North East at around 800-1000 feet. The air box will be fitted with a K&N filter wearing an outerwear maybe even an outerwear on the box. I have no problem buying the Dynojet kit and swapping in the larger jets just tell me what is best so I don't have to keep trying different combos.

Thanks very much in advance!!

Sorry I dont know much about jetting but I have a quick question.
How do you like your Yoshi system and Al airbox, do they give you good gains and power. Would you be able to compete race wise

the dynojet kit is a good start, but they dont have jets big enough for an open airbox (if you have an outerwear on your airbox you must be running without the lid) k&n filter full exhaust system, you may need to go up to 165/170. the rule of thumb for top end (main jets) is increase the size until your top end falters (miss, stumble, hesitates whatever you want to call it) then back off one size, it take a while but you will get the max hp's this way

steve
why the race fuel? I was mixing race fuel (trick) with premium to hit 95 octane (11:1 piston), and it completly masked a rich condition when I tried 160/165 main jets (I run 148/150 at 7000' altitude), I was cutting out bad at the top but my plug was white (tested correctly), turns out the slow burning race fuel was somehow masking the rich condition, still not sure why or how, but when I dropped to straight premium my plug turned black????? just thought I would pass that on
