I'm in quite a dilemma here. I've always owned Honda 3 wheelers but I'm very close to switching brands AND adding a 4th wheel. Of all the bikes out there, I've decided (I think) on a new Raptor. My question to all of you (this is my first post so bear with me) is what is a good price on a new 2002 Raptor. I know that this question has been asked before, but as time goes by, I imagine that the new Raptor prices keep going down...

I'm talking out the door with all taxes and fees included. Has anyone heard of anyone getting one for around $6250 OTD??? Do the dealers charge the same price for both colors of the bike?

THANKS.

Well Bass, have you ever actually called and talked to them for an out the door price? They list it low in the Indiana Auto & RV, but once they add all of the freight, prep, etc. you are back just over 6K if you are out of state and don't pay tax. I got a price from them and then had a local dealer match it, best price I could find at the time.

Welcome to the blue side Luke, I mean olderguy!

I got my 02 Raptor in November & paid $6199 OTD & got $300 in free accessories. I got on the Yamaha website & searched for dealers in my area & e-mailed all of them asking if they had any Raptors in stock & what colors.
If they e-mailed me back (if they wouldn't answer an e-mail about a sale you could imagine what their customer srevice would be like after they had my money!) I asked what they would take for one, asked more questions & called to talk to them. After I got my best price I asked the ones I felt best about if they would match it. A dealer just across the state line matched it (no sales tax), he had answered all e-mails, was freindly & didn't mind my endless questions. So I bought from them.

I got prices from the $6199 to $6499 plus up to $400 for shiping & assembly (gouge!) Search around ask questions & when you find a dealer that will work with you tell them your best price & see if they will match it. A good dealer may be worth an exrta couple of hundred compaired to an a$$h*le dealer with a cheap price.

6,250.00 is exactly what I paid for mine, including all the tax and fees. Plus I got a free helmet too. The dealers want your money, make them work for it. I called all over the state of Pa and this is the deal I got.

Zrwhat:

Yes, I did call the price in the Auto Rv book is 5295.00 and after they add on set-up the price is out the door 5730 something like that, I paid 6100.00 out the door at my local dealer. The 4 hour drive wasn't worth it.

Bass is correct. The otd is something like 5600 for an 02 raptor at chicago cycle during this current sale.
My otd price was only $200 more than the price they advertised when I bought my 02 400. If that's the case with the raptor, the otd would be $5595.
The drive was horrible. It went great until we hit the Chicago area,
wow, a 24hr traffic jam. It was worth it for the grand I saved.
