Man you guys sure have it tuff, I made a trail for my 91 Honda XR250R from my house to my friends house that was about 1/2 mile away, So I go up in the woods and see where I am gonna make my trail, Take my bike up there and ride back and forth a couple times to pack it down where I can see the trail, So after about a week after I had made the trail I came back on my XR and parked it in my yard, I hear this guy say come here boy!, I said excuseme, He said come here, So I took my helmet off and walked over there, He said not to ride on that trail anymore because it was tearing up his land, I swear to you all that there was NO RUTS on that trail or anything?(NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRAIL) He was showing me where all of his property ended and he saw some bushes that my neighbors had threw over the fence into his property and he said I am gonna go down and tell them not to throw anything over here again, I mean he never does anything close to where my trails are, So I started walking back and got back in my yard and got back on my bike, He said hey kid where you think your going, That did it for me, That pissed me off!!He was acting like was my dad or something. So he kept mumbling something and he walked down in my yard and I said"Get the HELL of my parents land right now, He said don't talk to me that way boy, That was it,My fuse blew,I threw my helmet on, Started my bike drove up to him heading right towards him and then he got back on his land, As soon as I passed him and stopped he got back on my land, I said GET OFF NOW!!He stood there So I grabed the front brake,Droped the clutch and threw Rocks and dirt all over his ***, I mean I was talking really nice to him and everything but he insisted on being an butthole to me, Hate that kind of person

Hey boogieman, I'm a native Floridian and no one in this country has a right to bellyache about non native out of staters {and foreigners} messing up our home state more than we do down here. People moving into your stomping grounds is old news around here. Tennessee is a beautiful state and while I could not live there {too dang cold} people moving in is a fact of life you are just going have to live with. Scout your region for good private and public riding lands, get a pickup truck and/or trailer, head out and make a day of riding. You really have no other choice. It is a shame but what can you do about it? Property owners have rights. I have watched my area of Florida go from raising citrus fruit to raising old yankees. When I get old, I'm moving to NY,PA,OH,orMI and I'm going to drive real slow in the left lane. Everywhere I go I'm going to tell them how much better we did everything "down south". Just a little payback. HA! All our old riding areas are filled with newlyweds and nearlydeads housing developments. We have to retreat deeper and deeper into the woods to avoid "upsetting" old folks with our activities. You will survive it just respect everyones rights and use good common sense.

I here ya fellas...
IF you can give me an ear for a second, I would love to give you my opinion on all of this. I agree with alot said above. I think it has to do with the general psychology and sociology of what people are and aren't use to. Alot of times people don't understand why people would buy or even consider riding or trying out ATV's, dirtbikes, skydiving, skate boarding, dirtbikes, or any extreme sports for that matter. When people don't understand something its there natural reaction to either dislike it or give vary little tolerance to it. I have seen this my entire life. I'll try and give a good analogy. My entire young life I spent doing almost every normal excepted sport under the book, from basketball and football, too baseball. When I got a little more competitive in high school and beyond I grew a love for individual sports such as Gymnastics, martial arts, diving, swimming, track, ect; Well, its quite amazing how much people stereotype sports and misunderstand them. I find it even more difficult these days to even communicate with my coworkers. When there to busy trying to figure out who just won the last NBA game and drank the most bear last night, trying to fit in with each other, I'm usually on the side sitting by myself trying to throw in a word or two about sportbikes, ATV's, skydiving and such. Now you can guess how often my topics come up for discussion with these guys. Hardly ever.
I get so tired of hearing these guys talk about golfing and there fantasy football leagues, that I actually pity them. For most of the guys I work with at least, I know I have probably tried more sports, and actually gone out and enyoyed more things in life by the age of 23 then most of these guys will ever do in their lives. I'm not trying to brag, I feel thats just the way things are in this world. Its like the person mentioned above about Harley's. Now even though I prefer sport bikes over Harley's it all really comes down to the same thing. People in general do not like things they do not understand. Its up to us to put out a good name for our sport, and even more to watch out for those that could potentially abuse it. ITs going to take time before people start excepting us and considering our ATV's no more obnoxious then the local lawn mower. ITs my hope that one day our sport will be looked at fairly by all and not just an outlet for little hell-bent kids that cant sit down for two seconds and be NORMAL, but unfortunatley its going to take some time. Sorry about the Rant!

I went mounatin biking with a couple of friends. one just happens to be a cop. i live up here in The NYC area. This happend about 6 years ago. we use to go riding in a local park. there is a trail that runs along these railroad tracks. we named it "casey jones" anyways i was leading as usual. i was doing about 25-30 mph. all of a sudden i feel something hit my helmet.. i was in a bit of a tuck because i was flying....so something hits my helmet..i figured it must have beena branch so i continue to go. the next thing i hear is my friends behind me going "YO WHAT THE F__K IS THIS" i turn around and to my surprise its a cable that is vibrating from me hitting it. some idiot put a wire cable across the trail!!! so i am really pissed off...My friends and i are PISSED. before i tell you the rest of the story i have to back up 4 weeks prior. we werer in the same park dong a nightride. MY friend had his cheek ripped open by a piece of well placed fishing line! We look around and ther was this shady looking dude there. we said to him "know anyhting about this"" he just looked at us and shrug his shoulders then walked away. My friend wound up getting a couple of stiches no biggie though..so anyways back to part 1. as we are takinh the cable down..some guy pops out of the weeds . wouldn't youknow it its the same GUY! without even blinking i start approaching the guy THE DUDE PULLS OUT A Magnum!!! I pick up my Mountain bike and hit him straight in the chest..WHACK..the dude falls to the floor..drops the gun.. itake off like a bat at of hell. The guy picks up the gun and as i am running.. I TRIP!!!!! i turnaround and i swear i was looking down the barrel of the gun...i thought that this was the end..all of a sudden i hear "DROP THE GUN I AM A POLICE OFFICER" One of my friends is a police officer and just happend to be riding with his piece. The guy sees this and just takes off..leaves his gun behind. My friend tells me to go and get my bike..Im like "NO WAY MAN" IMNOTGOING OVER THERE NO WAY" MY friend is like dont worry i got your back..so with extreme caution i go and pick up my 3,000 dollar mt bike. we then all ride to find a on duty officer. they combed the park but couldn't find this dude. 3 months later we saw him again. this time he just smiled. and kept going. I have not been back to that park since..nor will i go back ever
we still don't know if the guy inteneded to rob us or he just didn't like mt bikes
on another note..we use to go riding in an area that was very popular..i went here on a SAT. doing these awesome lip jumps..came back thenext day and someone had put a piece of wire across the jump...i didi hit thwe wire but fortunal;y iwas going real slow..

it makes me scared to think of somebody putting a fishing wire on my trails, my longest trail runs around my whole property, its almost a mile! and thats just ONE strip down, then theres the 1/2 mile across, then another mile up, i go down these trails 4th-5th gear no problem. I would be decapitated!
Somebody in this post said something right....... NONE OF THESE PEOPLE ARE EVEN REMOTLY INTERESTED IN RIDING BECAUSE THEY CANT. before, my sister didnt ride. I taught her(oh god, never again!) how to shift with a clutch ect, now she LOVES it. it makes me jealous to know how much she is interested! WOW! before she didnt know what honda was now she's into everything! WOW!
To Play football, you need a team.
To play anything but golf, you need a team. Whos going to play golf when its not for money? ... put.... put.... HOLE IN 1!! thats so exciting!!!
In riding, you need a quad(safety gear gas ect).
I enjoy riding, MORE THAN ANYTHING! even..... -looks around- .... $ex
im 14 im a virgin but yall understand.
i dont want to run with a ball down a feild cross a line, i wana drive MY SELF, go where I WANT TO GO, have new challenges. riding gets my anger out.

Man thunderpower, too personal, although I probably feel the same as you, OBSESSED! Anyway about the wire things, my mom use to live in Tacoma Washington and rode her three wheelers and quads around in this really big field. Some dude was on his dirtbike and somebody put a big cable up between two trees, he was hauling as$ and boom, unfortunately he was decapitated. Anothet time my mom and her friend were on their three wheeler and some guy with a machete started chasing them, you don't want to know what they found though(it was some satanic voodoo crackhead shiznit) that made the guy cahse them. Fortunately I haven't had one of these types of experineces, just a biatch callin the cops on me every week, but they lied to her for me a couple times saying they couldn't do anything during non business hours, so thats cool.
