i bought a stator off some ripoff dealer this weekend used for 200 dollars. i put it in and my warrior is still not getting any spark. how can i tell if its working or not. also, when testing it, what color wires carry the power to the ignition.

Best thing you can do is get a Clymer manual and read Chapter 9, "Electrical System". Page 257: "Stator Charge Coil Testing". They give three sets of values depending on the age: '87-'88, '89, and 1990 and up, so it will help everybody. These manuals are usually $23.95 or so and very well written/illustrated, much better than the factory manual which is over $40. If your local dealer doesn't have one you can get one at www.rockymountainatv.com or a Magic Racing (1-800-999-4594). Both are good places to deal with.

i stuck a piece of wire into each one of the plugs coming off the stator and turned the motor over with the electric starter and none of them gave off the least bit spark, any suggestons??
if i find out this dealer ripped me off 200 bux for a new stator hes gonna have some problems

There probably will not be any spark off the stator. The ignition coil is what jumps the voltage up to create the spark at the spark plug. The stator provides the voltage necessary to recharge the battery and run the lights, ignition, etc.

while i was installing the new stator i noticed there is 2 pickups. one gets put right side up and the other one goes upside-down. they can fit 2 different ways but i dont think it would make a difference. what do you think??? is it worth switching around and buying another gasket or do you think they can go either way.. also, do you think it can be the CDI?? i already replaced the solenoid and the coil, and now the stator. what are your thoughts on it
