I have cracked or broken both stock cv boot guards on my Kodiac from maybe a little over abuse on the quad. I guess its not over abuse as much as operator error. I hit a stump hard in bracken ferns on one side and cracked the other side running over some large sapplings ( small trees) on my property. I was looking at Dennis Kirk and Cabellas mags and am not sure as to the best guards for my 4x4. Oxlite or Stickstoppers and where is the best deal? Thanks

I've got oxlite cv guards on my 00 wolv they do a great job, easy to mount up and around $40 (cheap insurance).

Was it cold when you cracked them?

When I broke the first one I hit a stump going about 15 mph in open woods and never noticed it in the headlite high ferns, it was in the summer and I bent my A-arm. The second time was in the winter while putting out corn for the turkeys and by accident, ran over some small trees after going off the trail. The temp was around 15*f.

I guess the trees were not that small and I was moving right along. It is my fault and the stock ones are not that bad but if I do have to replace them I want to get the best there is within reason.

Hi,
I am waiting for MOOSE to come out with Guards for our 2000 year model Kodiak. They will be diamond plate aluminium in Black or natural. I like the Black. They are light and curl around the front and back of the A-arm.
I called about them and was told they would be out soon. I have a WARN 2500 winch already and want not to add any more weight than necessary. Oxlite steel guards weigh 10+ pounds.
