Ok guys,

Well.. I was looking at a used warrior.. but.. there's just something about buying used stuff... I'm not sure I wanna do that with something that gets punished like a 4wheeler.. ANyway...

I ride trails... that's it.. WHat I need to know is.. Will the Raptor feel at home on these trails or should I get something more like a new Warrior??

Thanks

Jeff

Tram,
The Raptor is fine on the trails. Do a search and you will see a lot of people go down one tooth on the front sprocket to lower there gearing. There is nothing wrong either with the Warrior but the Raptor with its bigger power plant is just more fun.

I ride trails about 90% of the time.. I love my raptors.. the power plant is GREAT! lots of low power, fast top end, reverse.. it's just a blast to ride.. I would suggest an extended swing arm if you have many long steep hills on your trails..

plus bonus if you ever want to go dune riding it will make it up alot more than a warrior..

I trail ride my Raptor 99% of the time. Get a decent swing arm skid, air the tires up to 5.5-6 pounds and you are ready. The Raptor is great for normal trails.....assuming no extremely slow rock crawling utility-type terrain.

Oh Yea....if you are not power hungry (unlike myself), the Warrior will do just fine.

garyc660R,
I have always run the stock Raptor tires at 4.0 psi. What is the advantage to running a higher pressure? On the three that I have,I always run at the recommended pressure on the small plate on the fender.

I ran around 3.5-4 pounds for the longest time. I would probably get a flat tire every other ride. After airing the tires up to 5.5-6 pounds.....the flat tires went away. What I did get was a harsher ride.....which is'nt a big deal anyway.

both quads are great choices for trail riding(i've owned both)..but...
the warriors frame and engine are dated and the suspension is nowhere near what
a stock raptor offers not to mention the power gap
the 02 raptors gearing is more trail friendly than the 01 in case youre looking
at both
one more item...because the raptor has a higher seat height you tend to sit on it
rather than in it like the warrior(if that makes sense)
