Yesterday I went riding with about 15 quads. This was a different group than I normally ride with. Although I knew most of them, I have never ridden with them. We came up to a large long hole. This hole was the same one that we (the usual 20 I ride with) battled 2 hours to get out of. Me and a bud warned them not to go in. Of course they do, and as soon of the first guy said that "I thought this hole was bad" he sunk. People kept going in to get others out, and soon enough it was me and my bud sitting on the edge of the hole with everyone else stuck. We talked a minute and decided "screw them". We had warned them not to go in, they did and were paying the piper. We decided to continue on with the ride. After about an hour and a half we came back to see them just coming out of the hole. They were pissed. They started dropping little comments about how we didn't stay and help and what good friends we were. I say f--- them. We told them not to go, so why should I ruin my ride by pushing and pulling on someone elses quad. Anyone think we were wrong by doing this.

I probably would've gave them a tug, but that's just me. You have no reason to feel bad about it. You told them not to, they did anyways. You reap what you sew.

There was no way to get close enough without getting stuck myself. This hole should be in a horror flick. The only way could have helped them would have been to walk out there and push.

This kinda stuff is why we have one dedicated 350 4x4 with a winch and a tow rope. Most times, he can just cruise up next to you, hand you the rope, and put off tugging you along with him without either ever getting off their bikes.

But seriously... if you told them not to, and they did it anyways... and got mad that you weren't stupid enough to dive into the trouble you warned them about? Pfft, brush 'em off.

I think you were in the right too, though for different reasons than other people have stated.
You said that you were with a group of 15 quads, and 2 of you decided not to get stuck and go for a ride?

First of all, that left 13 people to work at getting the quads out, which is more than enough. It's not like you left one guy by himself or anything.
Secondly, how dumb were these guys? After hearing your warning, and after seeing 8, 9, 10 quads drive in and get stuck ahead of them they still went in with their quads?

You shouldn't feel guilty at all.

i would have laughed me a$$ off at them for a while, watched them get all muddy head to tow and once they started to move them offer to tow. but thats me on the other hand if 2 people are stuck in a hole..........how many more does it take to accually take to knock it in that no one gets out if all are in the same f*%$#@! hole!.........................like forest said." mamma always says, stupid is as stupid does!" lol.lol....lol

ditto. screw em.
If thirteen people tried to jump across a ditch and they all fell in would you jump too? And if you didn't jump they got mad at you for not getting wet with them? They learned a valuable lesson getting out on their own.
.....Bad luck?, Bad judgement? or both, just follows some people. Best stay away from them, at least when they're riding.
It can be different things for different people. For instance, I can't fish. And it's contagious. Take me fishing and nobody catches anything, ever. Some how those fish know how anxious I am to eat them.
.... At least I admit I can't fish and warn people not to take me. One friend has to be as bad as I am, yet belongs to all kinds of fishing clubs and bassmaster stuff with patches all over him. He never has caught a bass, he never catches anything. Sure it's hard to fish in the desert, but we have a couple of friends who catch trout and bass all the time around here.

I would only leave em behind if theyre are 2 guys. If theres one friend by himself, id help. get a winch! They more often than not help alot!
