i want to know where the pump is located to keep an eye on what seems to be a pending prob. Could i
cover the wep holes at the bottom with pantyhose like i did with the cvt intake thanks

 

if you open the panel to check the oil the water pump is down and to the letf, you can see the water hose running in to it.

 

i have talked to the yamaha corps. engineer and he has agreed that they have a problem and he is trying to fix it. i gave him my idea which is to tap that vent hole and put a fitting in it with a hose ran up to a higher location,like under the handle bars.he has told my local dealer to do that as a trial an error with the agreement to try something else if this fails, which i doubt it will.this will keep elements out and the pump can still ventilate as it must be able to do.
