We need more info than that, are the hills long or steep or both? If it is a long 75 degree hill than get hella speed, hit in in third than maybe downshift towards the middle. If it is short and steep hit it in 2nd or 3rd and jump it.

My buddy on his warrior hits most big hills in 4th, then as he slows down you can see him down shift to 3rd, then 2nd. There has only been 1 time that I have seen him go down into first, by the time he hit the top he was at walking speed (very big sandy hill). So it is just a matter of trial and error, it's no fun having to back down big hills when you are only 10 ft. from the top because you ran out of speed.

The trick is to begin to climb at maximum speed and rpm. If you have a 13 teeth sproket(stock) try the third gear. If it is too fast for the beginning of the hill try second gear or go in third gear and downshift to second before loosing too many rpm. Do it only if you feel ok or try smoother hill before... be carefull because if you downshift to fast (with a warrior) your gear can slip and then grab. Forget the fourth speed.

Ok, if the hill is very steep try second gear at maximum rpm and when you are near of the lip release trottle. The important thing is to have more speed than less, that way you can control your speed.

It'll be your own call on what gear to go up the hill in. Why not just find a gear you are comfortable in and make sure you have enough power and traction to maintain momentum in that gear while traveling up the hill.

Try this if you are not comfortable climing near vertical inclines. Put your right foot on the rear grab bar. Keep the left near the shifter. This allows you to bail with ouit getting run over and it also let you spread your weight more evenly. IF i was in your situation i would hit it in 3rd gear on my warrior. Although mine is geared VERY LOW, you my want to try 2nd. Before you hit the lip let off the gas some or say hello to your good friend "Dirt".
