I am going to get a K&N w/ an outerwear or the Pro Flow kit for my Raptor, just wondering how the K&N in the kit mounts in the airbox? I really like the way the Pro Flow mounts but the K&N comes with a jet kit and I want to go that way. I had a K&N for my DRZ and it didn't seal good in the airbox. Does it use the stock filter style mount? Can you run the K&N with no lid?? Thanks for any help!!!

I have the same question. I also want to go with a k & N. I have already rejetted, but not much difference without the filter and outerwear. I saw in a magazine from yamaha where they had an adapter that goes on before the filter. Didn't know wether I had to purchase the adapter (60.00) or not!

Say I was to buy the K&N power kit with the jets and filter and so on... how does that filter mount.....? it is NOT the Pro Flow or anything, they have the kits on ebay if you need to see what I am talking about. How much is the pro flow K&N setup and where can I get that one?

The stock K&N mounts the same way the stock filter does. I don't likew the way the stock filter setup is. If its not set in place just right theres chance of letting dirt by. JMO. As for the pro design. It has an aluminum flange that bolts to the filter box with an O ring seal. Then the K&N filter or foam (whichever you buy) clamps on to the flange. Much better than stock. The K&N is $129.00 the Foam is $89.00 both come with flange and an outerwear. Jetting is seperate. The filter setup and jet kits here at Rockymountain ATV online or at your local dealer as well as many other places online.
