I'm about to buy the Swisher T-44 towable mower. Does anyone know of a front mount mower made by anyone instead, or any other ATV mowers they reccommend? What is the experiance out there? Thanks.

My uncle has A front mount mower on his Honda 300 4x4,I think it has A Briggs&Straton 12hp on it and it is electric start. It uses the power from the ATV by means of A quick connect cable mounted on the front rack,I think their is A key on this cable connection to start&stop the mower, but I have not seen the mower in quite some time.I know he still has it and likes it.If memory serves me correctly I think it was made by A company called Kimpex,I think they are out of Quebec Canada.Anyway I know my anwers are not to informative but I am going of memory.

I'm thinking about the swisher also, it's about 800 bucks versus the front mower which is closer to 1800. Are you concerned about the 4-wheeler tearing up the lawn?? Any info you have on the swisher would be very helpful, it's all a little new to me. thanks!

I have some insight that I hope will help.

Here is some WEB based information

Cycle Country Mowers
http://www.cyclecountry.com

Swisher Mowers
http://www.swisherinc.com

Bush Hog Mowers
http://www.bushhog.com/agtoc.html

I researched all of them when I bought my mower. At the time the best option for me was the Cycle Country Rough Cut mower. I needed a tank of a unit and something that was more of a brush cutter rather than a finish mower. Swisher didn't have their heavy duty trail mower out at the time. I looked at the Swisher's finish mowers but they just weren't sturdy enough. The Cycle Country has solid tires, so no need to worry about punctures. It is about as heavy duty as they get. If you can pull it through the junk, it will cut it. The only thing I wish it had was electric start. Pull starting a 12.5hp engine is not the most enjoyable thing to do.

Good Luck
