I just bought a 2001 Wolverine. I have had alot of
quads and I like the wolverine the best. The only thing
is that when I want to go into reverse it just want go.
I checked the cable adjustment and it seems o.k.
Anyone have this problem?

It depends on what you call "hard" I guess. Mine is certainly harder to go into reverse than other gears, but I always thought that was normal because it goes from 1st directly to reverse, skipping neutral.
You could try adjusting your clutch, on the left side of the motor, just above the shifter.

I have a 95 Wolverine and you need a heavy foot to click it into reverse. I have experienced the reverse light being on but as you give it throttle, it jumps out of reverse because it never really engaged fully. You need to stomp hard and feel it click in. When I started doing this, it went in every time. If you reverse cable is adjusted ok then it is just the way the Wolverine is.

Good Riding!

I have problems getting it out of reverse sometimes. I have found out if you give it just a little gas when you up shift (foot presure still on the shifter) it will just pop right into gear. I didn't like forcing it in to gear with my foot too much.

Thanks alot people I was a little worried. I love the wolverine.
Its just that other quads that I have had went into reverse better.
I know sometimes you have to rock them back and forth or maybe gas them a little.
My wolverine just today went into reverse fine, then when I
got back in the wood and went to turn around it just would not click
in. I hate to force it. I have seen guys keep stomping on their shifters, I just cant do it. I think I will tinker with the cable a little.
Hay jcsact where did you find moose hand guards? I cant find any for
my wolverine. I have some bark busters I almost put on but my cousin got some hand guards from Cabelas for his Recon and I like them more but they dont advertise any for the Wolverine.
Thanks for the help.

They are the universal handguard. I had to cut the ends off of the levers to get them to fit. I hopefully will be getting some pics of it on the web soon. By the way "oneflag" were in indiana are you.

Just a note on my reverse problem. I dont know if I just broke her in or its all about skill. We road hard Sat. and I did not have any real problems. A couple times it might have been hard to get out of reverse but I think that its normal for the Wolverine.
I have bought my last ATV the Wolverine is all that and some.
