Raptor Radiator vs. MUD
#1
I was racing on sunday and my Raptor just died on me. I had a ton of mud on my radiator so I'm gussing that I over heated it, but it wouldn't even start for a couple hours. I was just wondering If any one else ever had this problem? I was thinking that maybe there was some kind of safety that wouldn't even let it start if it was too hot?? any info would be greatly appreciated.

was youre radiator compleatly covered? was the fan running? was the temp light on? Was it dumping fluid into the overflow?
I know raptors don't like to be overheated but I've had my temp light come on while doing some slow trail rides but I just get in an open area & ride faster to get the air flowing & the light goes off. I've never had it shut down.

I raced a harescramble a couple of weeks ago on my '02 Raptor with heavy mud. The grill was packed totally solid and the overheating light was on for more than half the race. It never quit running and on the few occasions that I stalled it, it restarted ok.
