My oil tank cracked down the side where the dipstick is. It also cracked where the line is connected at the bottom of the tank. I think that I may have caused the bottom of the tank to crack when I was tugging on the oil line trying to remove it. Anyways, it can be welded. I had mine welded by a shop that I trust. They charged me 35 dollars to weld the side and the bottom. He did a fantastic job too. It now is stronger than the factory ever though about making it.
35 is alot cheaper than 180 for a new one.

i had mine crack around the oil line block on the bottom the day before our glamis trip. i welded it and it worked, but once something proves to be garbage, it will always be. i took some 1/8 inch aluminum and made my own so now if there's a problem i can blame myself.
