My friend is getting ready to get a parking brake block off and install a new clutch perch, to clean up the looks of the bars. There are a few wires that run from the old perch the back of the radiator. What to do with these. Just disconnect? Is there a circuit that has to be completed? Please give any advice before he goes and jacks some thing up!!

If he is completely replacing the perch, he has two choices:

1) Get the left brake perch for a Yamaha Kodiak. It has a place for a single switch mechanism. He can put the clutch switch there and thus retain the safety feature of not being able to run the starter unless the clutch is pulled in.

2) Go with an aftermarket perch that has no provisions for the switch mechanisms. In this case, unplug the emergency brake wires from the wiring harness down behind the radiator. Also unplug the clutch wires and then plug the two wires from the bike side into each other thus completing the circuit. This will allow the starter to run whether the clutch is pulled in or not.

NotoRaptor2 has it right, I did option #2 and am very happy with it, hated the huge bulky lever, just got a MSR lever and perch and got the WB block off plate, looks alot better too.
