RiverRat440 That sucks. Someone no doubt put that there as a deterant to ride there or to purposly hurt someone.

This didn't happen to me but I saw it.

We were riding last weekend and parked our trucks. Thought about parking the trucks along a certain area to keep riders away because of a 2-3" high burm and on the otherside is a cliff that drops down I'd say 15' and the gap across to the otherside is probably 20-30'. There are many 6' round boulder size chunks of earth lineing the bottom of this crevass. Its hard to see when coming up on it and you think its just a bump in the road and you can continue on. Me and my 11 year old son had just got back to the truck from a ride and this kid on a Kawasaki 3 wheeler came wizzing on by us. Before I could warn him he came up on this bump in the road pretty fast. About 10' or so away he noticed there was no road after the bump. He hit the skids, realized he wasn't gonna stop and just as he was going up the bump (burm) tried to jump off, it looked like. He dissapeared and when me and my son ran up to the edge this kid was laying on the otherside at the bottom, crumpled up. The bike was to the right of him and up the side a bit, crumpled up. The kid rolled to the side a bit and saw us standing there and asked us to help him. At this time I saw his left wrist was broken. His hand was at a 90 degree angle from his arm. He said his leg hurt and he couldn't move or get up. My guess is he had a broken leg and a broken wrist, arm, hand for sure. I can only assume he hit the tops of these very large dirt clods and bounced off of them to the otherside and slammed into the otherside and went to the bottom. The bikes front end was totalled. The forks were bent all the way around. The tires and rims were bent and flat. The radiator was tore apart. The handlebars were broken. Many other items were wrong with it as well. We called the paramedics for help. The police showed up and told everyone they were tresspassing and to leave or be cited. We ride on the otherside of the road now down in a wash, with many hills and trails. A better, much safer place to ride anyway. Thats the worst crash, I've seen. At least the worst broken parts, human and machine.

well i have a pretty good one it involved a go cart and a three wheeler. first i worked at a small engine shop and built a bitchen go cart. it had a arms and a swing arm. well i just pretty much got it built except for the roll cage and my friend ryan comes over to the shop. so we go for a ride and get into town crusing about thirty and my front right tire and aarm caves in causing me to spin around a few times. thats all i remember but what i am told my friend was right behind me and nailed me in the front and sorta used me as a jump. i had rubber burn on my cheek and forarm. then when i woke up "i was knocked out" i saw ryan standing there with his wrists just hanging there. he broke them both and had to be brought into the hospitle.. he actually flew for over 20 feet in the air and into a mail box. in minnesota we have the swinging type mail boxes cause of the snow plows and they are cemented into the ground he sheared off a thick pole at the base and cracked the cement. its long but it was wicked!

I was out riding by myself, trying to decide on which hill to climb, changed my mind at the last minute and tried to go toward my second choice, found myself plunging off a small cliff (6ft) while off the throttle (nose dive) quad hit the bottom slammed me 1/2 way off, and my leg got caught under under the spinning wheel with the full weight of the quad 1/2 way between my knee and ankle, of course I happened to not be wearing my MX boots. I knew my left leg was in bad shape, my biggest worry was how to ride the 5miles back to my truck to get help, once I found out the bone was no sticking out, I managed to ride back to my truck and get to the hospital: fractured tib/fib, broken ankle, and sprained knee, I always wear my safety gear now

I have a steel rod in my leg and 2 pins. the best part was i wasn't even riding my bike .just warming up. My friend and I were going to go for a ride on my new quadracer. We were standing in FRONT OF MY HOUSE in BROAD DAYLIGHT with the quad running. My friend scott was just talking to me..whne the next thing i know im lying in the middle of the street...on the yellow line...evrything was moving in slow motion..my frined scott went flying across the street..as im laying in the street i look down the block and ther is my quad still running..spinning on top of this Honda prelude..the car was still going!!! it finally stopped (crashed) at the end of the block becasue the car and my quad both hit a fence to a major highway. The lady gets out and she starts crying hysterically...she slike i FEEL ASLEEP I FELL ASLEEP!!! appartnly sh e was a nurse at a hospital and worked a double shift. Heres the real kicker..her house was at the end of the block. she mowed us down like bowling pins..she was doing at least 60

The damge was nuts...my friend Scott thought he was ok. (shock) .his leg was broken by the foot peg!! the footpeg was totaly twisted like a pretzel....goes to get up cause he sees my lying on the ground..i see his bone go right thorugh his LEG!! out it came..he falls down screaming...at thsi point i am afraid tolook down..but i know im hurt..im afraid because i feel this weird numbness down there..but i look down and low and behold my leg was there..and it looked ok could it be tha t i am alright??...i had these Garne mottox boots on (thank GOD!!) Anyways i go to move my leg and the part from the mid shin down just moved by itself..looked like an L.... INSERT MOST PAINFUL SCREAM HERE...

6 months later i was riding my mountain bike.. the damage was extensive...Scott has a slight limp ..this happened in 92..im fine !!!Thank the Lord!!! now but basically i had to learn how to walk all over again the quad was well...totaled..as for the car and the lady ..the lady sent us flowers..

didnt ride agin until.. I SAW THE BLUE BEAST

I was ridding at Haspin Acres in Laurel Indiana. Its a place that you pay to ride. We came up on a tree that had some flowers and a cross on it so we stopped. It also had a picture of a guy and his family.
And a note from his mom that said I miss you. I think he died on that hill, very sad.
Ride safe guys.

I was coming around a long sweeping corner on a dirt road in the back of my parents lakehouse neighborhood. I was on my 97 Trail Boss 250 at the time. I was sliding pretty hard around the corner on the indside (you could fit three cars wide, its a big road) and this truck (F-150) comes hauling a$$ around the corner. He was on my side of the road and i swerved to avoid him. I don't really remeber exaclty what happened but I woke up in the trees next to the road and he was asking me if I was okay. i ended up with a mild concusion (sp.), a sprained ankle, lots of "road rash" and a couple of broken ribs.... My Trail Boss Sacrificed an A-arm, Tie rod, 2 Tires, A wheel, DG Bumper, and a Floorboard.

Also I raced PWC since I was 16 and had a very nasty accident on my Sea-Doo GSI. I was coming around a corner in front of some guy, and he tried to cut inside of me and couldn't hold his line. He ran over the top of my Ski. He cost me to be in a cast for 8 months and recieve, 3 skrews, 2 pins, and 57 stiches in my hand, arm, and wrist.....

Actually i belive strongly in Natural healing...

what really helped alot was the fact that my friends were all lifeguards..and they use to let me use the pool all the time and that really helped me along. I had a cast from my Crotch all the way down to my toes and it didn't do anything..that's when they deceided to do the internal rod thing. had broken my tibular and fibular. I still have the rod to this day. the doc i went to was like you should take it out. I was like "how many weeks will till i walk on it again" he is like 6 months and you cannot walk on it at all.....its still in..it dosn't bother me..
