I had a Warrior for years and now have a 400EX. The Warrior was ok in its day (a dozen years ago), but many new designs have passed it up. Even though it isn't that heavy, it always handled clunkey. It was just plain terrible in technical situations. And, the Warrior is rather high priced for a low end sport bike. You can get more for your money elsewhere!!

The 400 is a great trail bike and a great climber. Can't comment on mud though, cause we dont get much of that here in the desert.

i agree with yzguy. the warrior is way outdated and real low on power. it's heavier than the 400 with less engine and just nothing about it compares to the 400ex. i mean it weighs a few lbs. less than the raptor with almost half the engine. get the 400ex no doubt! neither are gonna go through DEEP mud to well considering the tires and about 4 inches of ground clearance at the swingarm.

The Honda is definately a better performer, but the reverse gear on the Warrior will help you in the deep mud. Man, they would probably sell yet another million 400EX's if they ONLY HAD REVERSE!
