Do you regret buying a raptor?

2001 raptor and I'm one of many that hasn't had a bit of trouble. Regrets? Well, maybe one. Sometimes I feel stupid to believe the talk I here on this forum, thinking that someday I'll have major internal problems. Took me a while to get over it and now I just go out and run it like I stole it. (If by chance I do have problems though, It'll give me an excuss to take it to the next level. Horsepower is a terible thing to waste!)

No regrets, I have a 250R, had a canibal, had a lt500, and I've ridden Banshee's, 400EX's, and a DS 650. For the type of riding I do (Trails mostly) I like the raptor better than all of them. Is the Raptor perfect right out of the box...NO. But with some modifications it is now perfect for me.

The raptor has power but i regret buying one.
The raptor looks good but thats where it ends. I own most of the major atvs and the raptor quality is no where near what is should be. Quality is day and night compaired to a DS650 baja in the DS's favor.
Just recently i broke the frame on a jump that wasnt that big.
In my opinion the raptor has a weak frame, Weak axle, and the engine should be making more power since yamaha brags about how advanced it is. The raptor plastic is junk. If you ever touch anything like a branch and it bends a little you can see a white crease. The suspention and handle bars squeek.
Sorry but this will be my last yamaha. I have a kodiak and a 02 grissly and its the same story there. Nothing like the 1996 kodiak.
Bombardier has won me over with there quality and before you come and bash this post which im sure someone who thinks they know more will, go check the ds and raptor out and if you cant see the diffrences you should be worried that you might not pass your next eye exam..

Owned Scrambler, Xplorer, lt250R, 400EX, YZ426, and now this Raptor.
Don't regret buying it at all.
Rode the DS. Way to heavy. Marty, put a CT kit on that Raptor, and then cover the DS cause it won't move from your garage. My friend's hasn't moved in months, once we put a pipe on his Raptor.

Let me get this, 1 guy (marty) says he regrets buying a rator ,ok thats his poragitive but everyone else says they DONT regret buying a raptor and you decide based on 1 persons opinion you wont buy a rator ? Why the hades even ask if your mind was already made up ? Either you are 1)a troll from the honda forum or 2)incredibly ignorant and belong on on the honda forum. Pleeease a 400ex over a raptor ? hahahahahahahahahah

You'll have to put a lot of money into a 400ex in order to get a lot of speed and power out of it, but I have never been bored on one... actually, I've never been bored on any quad. The Raptor would be a lot of fun too but as far as reliability goes, I don't know. I've heard a lot of posotive and negative things about it and when someone says something breaks on theres, another person says it has never been a problem, so I don't know. It's the same way w/ my cannondale but so far, no reliability issues and the power, acceleration, speed, handling, and the fact that I payed less OTD than MSRP on a Raptor made it impossible to pass up. If I only rode trails, I would probably get a Raptor and if I did both, I would probably get a 400ex, but I pretty much only MX and sometimes I ride some open trails just for the hell of it, so I got the Dale.

You might not get this, either 1)your too dumb, or 2)your just too ignorant to listen to what i have to say.
ten good things about a raptor can equal to one bad thing about a raptor. why would you listen to all these good things, when your worried about it being bad? WHY would you worry about it being "good"? i would rather be worried if the raptor is a bad machine. you dont have to worry about the good comments, because the good comments dont matter, their good, but i dont need to listen to them. Your machine has had no problems? THATS GREAT! but if i hear somebody's frame cracked in half over night while sitting in the garage, those good things just dont matter, and you start listening to the bad things.
Im guessing your #1.
