Why are you looking at the Blaster? I would stray from the Blaster unless you're tight on cash. I almost got one for my gf, but just heard too many(bad) things about them.

I looked into one pretty good, as I thought most of the reliability concerns were from oversized riders riding beyond the quads ability. I had a dealer mech. tell me some stuff, he said they weren't bad, but you had to be carefull of temperatures,, I guess there easy to overheat, being aircooled n all. He said hes seen at least one come back within a weekend that was seized. He told me most of the cause was getting the motor too hot, and "reaming" on it to try and cool it. He said It wasn't a good thing to ride it all-out when its hot from putting/woods riding, that it is better to kinda cruise up to a decent speed to cool it before ripping on it.

best bang for the buck. If you are short on cash look no further. They are very reliable and with little mods can run real competitive in the trails. I have had mine 4 years and never had a problem. I just for the first time rebuilt the top-end this winter. I had over 180 hours and it was still running strong. All it needed was a light hone for the rings to set. I dont know why people say they are unreliable. I suppose because they are cheaper and a two-stroke. If you liked your trailblazer you will love a blaster.

I had a blaster for about 2 years. It was my first 2 stroke and was what got me hooked on them. It has a preppy motor and one with a few mods can suprise a few people. I saw one at www.mobiledyno.com which had the 240 kit and it had 29 hp which for comparsion is more than a stock 400ex. As far as being reliable I had never had a problem with mine.
