Hi. I'm in my second week with the new Grizz, and I have a couple of Questions. First: On cold starts with the choke on, I seem to be getting a "knock" from the motor. (could be the tranny?) seems to go away after the engine is warm, but I still hear it a bit when the engine is under load. Normal? Second: How carefull do you have to be during the break in period? I mean, do you have to avoid full throttle all together? I want to open 'er up and see what she'll do, but dont want to hurt my bike. Whats the worst that could happen? Thanks for any/all replies.

Mine does the same thing. Don't worry about giving it a full hit once in a while. Just don't stay on it for a long time. I have 5.7 miles and I've had it over 60 already. Just don't keep the throttle at one speed for a long period of time. I know it's tough, wanting to hammer it all the time.

i have 135 miles on mine. and when i cruising down the road i sometimes get side tracked,... yada yada yada..., before you know it i'm going 63 with 1/4 throttle left. I then have to let off.

RyGuy660~

Yamaha's have a tendency to have a loud valve train...could be that you're hearing. Secondly, I broke mine in as Jack said. I broke it in like I planned on riding it. I didn't keep it hammered, but I did open her up during the break in period.

My wife and I both stayed out of the throttle for the break-in period. Not to say that we didnt hit full throttle now and then. Just make sure to vary your throttle during your ride and dont let it get to hot. I know it it HARD not to wanna play the first day that you get it, but you will be happier in the long run if you give it the time that it needs. TRUST me... that break-in time FLIES by....it really doesnt take all that long to rack up 20 hours!!!!

Ride hard, ride safe...
