I have an 01 Kodiak 4x4 and ride a lot with my Polaris friends. They always carry a spare CVT belt and say they have to replace them about once a year. Please give me your feedback on:

Has anyone had to replace a belt? If so why, and how many miles were on it when it happened?

How do you replace the belt, is it easy, do you need special tools?

The belt (parts only) cost $135 at the dealership. Has anyone paid less?
