I don't think it is required. I know they didn't install one on my Wolvy. The dealer put on a Yamaha/Warn 2000lb and I have followed the wire all the way to the batt.


I would def go with one, I believe it regulates the juice getting to your winch, which is a good thing

Geez Padzz, Didn't take long to post it after you got it.
It is a great CD though. It does cover the chassis wiring and most everything else. The one thing not on this CD is the Exploded views with the Yamaha factory part #'s.

Anyone who get's one of these will not regret it.

John.....can't find one for the Kodiak, but it does have some detailed info and video on the auto tranny...it actually uses the Kodiak as an example.
