OK so there is your standard Yamaha Oil and then there is the others.

Do you go with standard oil
or Synthetic oil ?
What is the best and what weight is best for running in the Raptor ?

Just wnat to know... Doing an oil change tomorrow.
First one on the bad boy.. Want to put the best stuff in...

I did a poll on this subject a couple of months ago. My findings were that the majority of people that have NOT had a transmission failure are using Yamalube.

go with the regular yamalube, i tried the synthetic, and started getting a puff of blue smoke during warm up. plus get a filter. $10 - $12 also make sure you drain the oil from both locations. when you put the fresh oil in, you will only be able to get 1 - 1 1/2 qts. in the tank and then roll the motor over to pump some of the oil into the motor ,than fill it to the specified location. have fun

I have been using honda 4-stroke oil for 2 1/2 years in my 4 strokes, non-synthetic and I really like it, no clutch slipping no other problems what so ever! The weird thing is I never had a honda....suzuki and yamaha with honda oil, my friends make fun of me for it but I like their oil

I have recently heard alot about amsoil, but have never used it. I started of with yamalube and then changed to the semi-synthetic yamalube. At this time is when my clutches went out. It turned into to a big problem. Yamaha couldn't figure out what the problem was and put in a whole new clutch assembly. Thats a long story shortend but now I only use non-synthetic yamalube.

Use Yamalube, man. If Yamaha puts their name on the stuff it has to be good.
