I just wanted to let everyone know that I have worked it out with the dealer and he is going to wait to get the parts....he wanted to put the 01 gears back in because 3 different Yamaha tech's told him that 02 gears wouldn't fit in right......!!!!!had another dealer check the part # for the 02 case and guess what........THERE THE SAME! HUH??
so he came around when I proved that to him and convinced him it would work! SO....I called Curtis Sparks and he had one gear that is on the way and the other will be here sooner or later so I will wait and so will the dealer! Sucks to lose so much ridding time ....its allready been 1 month tomorrow and looks to be another month...warranty runs out in Oct. so I will have some more time to break it! Thank God for extended warranty.....well woth the extra money at this point..but still am paying for the 02 gears. I guess you can't have everything!!!
I will say also that the dealer knows about the 11:1 piston in it and is not saying a word so he could make life hard for me. I had to use some commen sense and not get him mad! as you can see it is working out !

Glad to hear you worked it out! You'll like the spacing on the 02 gears.

Yeah....Glad everything is coming together for you.

Your dealer not wanting to wait is kind of odd, BUT the reasoning behind this is that NO DEALER wants a transmission down for more than a week, due to the fact that transmissions are a complicated piece, even for the professionals, to reassemble long after it was torn down.

Imagine yourself taking a Raptor motor down to nothing. Cram it in a box and through it in the closet for a month. Now, you decide to put it back together. It's not going to be possible without a manual and reading, and working, and reading, and working, scratch the noggin',reading,
working,so on, and so on. This would be the case unless you did this to the same engine every day. I'm not saying that they couldn't do it. I'm just saying that by doing this, you have turned an 8 hour job into one of 12 hours. He still can only charge you for the time ammount given to you in your estimate. Therefore, the other 4 hours of labor, he has to eat and include it in the mechanic's check at the end of the week.

I'm just glad everything is going to work out. Let us know when you get it from the shop. Give us another review. I always find these "Dealer Encounters" interesting. Sometimes, I get a laugh and sometimes, it actually gives ME tips on what NOT to do.......LOL
