Wolverine mods

Well I got a 98 Wolverine and so far I've got a Super Trapp Muffler, K&N filter and 25" Tires.
These has made a world of difference the muffler and filter gave me a noticable difference in power plus the filter helps too.
But the best change I ever made was 23" up to 25" boots.
I have huge ground clearance now and less square inch pounds on the ground.
The 23's had better cornering than the 25's but did nothing but get me stuck.
The down side is that the Wolverine is a little too gutless to turn when you really sink them in.
But my next mods will be a 500cc stroker kit and a munual clutch kit from four stroke tech.
Hope this points you in the right direction it all depends what type of riding you into....

I had a 98 Wolverine with 25x10x12 rear and 25x8x12 front blackwaters on ITP magnum rims. Definitely get an aluminum rim (.190) if you're going to run the bigger tires. I hear that the Maxxis all traks are a good all around trail/mud tire...and they are lighter than most. I had a FMF Megamax II exhaust, white bros. torque stuffer ($20...must have mod for low end grunt), K&N filter, and jet kit. This set-up will get your bike through just about anything. I took mine through the Rubicon Trail, Sledgehammer, and Jackhammer. You'll need full skidplates for this type of riding, and a winch...but dang, I was always impressed at how I would always give the big 4x4 quads a run for their money. I kind of miss the Wolv' , but I'm having a blast on my new 400EX.

For the exhaust you should go with an LRD or a White Bros. to get everything out of it. You should also go with the LRD intake and follow the directions with the holes in the lid. With the outterwears unless you are trying to make it swim you should be just fine. I had mine completely submerged and it quit running after the water was over 3 1/2 feet deep but it came out ok. Also another cheap mod is the K&N Jet Kit. Then for $100 I would go to FST and add the manual clutch. If you hillclimb and ride fast stay with the Dunlap 23" tires. 25" tires wrk well and yes I hve tried both but they dont handle as well and suck down a little power. With my mods, I slightly pull past a Scrambler 400 and a Sport 400 on top speed. It will run mid 60's even with the 23's. With these mods that I suggested, it should bring it to life.
