My business partner got a chance to ride the new Zuki 2 days ago. He, like many, expected big things from it. This is a summary of what he had to say.

Small-Felt like a Blaster in size and riding possition.

Wheelies-Due to the short wheel base, it wheelies in any gear.

Power-Felt weaker than a 400EX. Very disapointed with the power.

Suspension-Exactly like a 400EX, right down to the same shocks as the stock 400

Geometry-400EX

Basicly, he felt like he was riding a slightly smaller, weaker 400EX. The motor that feels so good on two wheels, just fell short on 4.

If you always believe what Dirtwheels writes then the Raptor would have had the power of a Quadzilla and the handling of a a 400ex. This ain't a flame aimed at the Raptor because if I was going to own a 4-stroke sport quad it would be a Raptor. Magazines constantly exagerate how good certain quads are according to, I believe, what ever quad that the company wants people to buy at that time. Think about how much advertising that certain companies (Yamaha, Honda) buy from the magazines. I read the editorial from one of the magazines in which the editor admitted that the companies try to bribe them. We all know that many people, though not all, base their purchase of a new atv based simply on what a magazine says. It is in the best interest of the companies to make sure that their quads get good reviews. Just my opinion.

Dang Knutz,

Thats not very good. My brother has been waiting for the Z's to come out before he buys another quad. He was going to get the 400 ex but I talked him into waiting till the Z came out. He has a DS now but wanted a better quad for the tight trails of the San bernardino mountains.

I don't know him personally, but he's trying to build a legitimate business. I doubt very seriously if he'd engage in that kind of sour grapes. When a guy like this posts an opinion he's putting his company's integrity, as well as his own, on the line. It's safe to say that his partner really did relate that story to him and that it's his honest opinion. Mohajaveman1, TrexxRaptor, and those of their ilk could do a lot better job of discerning the rantings of a teeniebopper from the views of a genuine ATV enthusuast.

Having said that, Knutz, did they really detune the DRZ motor that much? I've seen the DRZ's out on the trail and at the track, and they rip! What are those monkey's at Susuki thinking?!

mojaveman1 and TrexxRaptor, There is no need to start bashing a fellow ATV connection member like Knutz. Knutz has done more for these forums and the sport than either of you would do in your lifetime. He is a respected member of these forums and I have never seen him say anything on these forums that wasn't honest and sincere. He runs a reputable business and knows what he is talking about. Besides, he was simply relaying what he was told by a friend that rode a Z400.

I can't believe you guys would take the word of any magazine like Dirtwheels over somebody as trusted as Knutz. Maybe you awe Knutz an apology for your childish and uncalled for behavior.

It's crap like what you two posted that turns an intelligent conversation into childish name calling match. Be glad I am not one of the moderators!!!

WyoDuner, don't pay them kids no mind, One has a Mojave, and the other has Nothing. So I'm sure they had their hopes and dreams shattered when Knutz pop'd their little bubbles. If they were not mature enough to grasp what Knutz said, They dang sure! are'nt going to Appologize!

You have to remember what it was like to be "Young and Clueless".

With what you you just said Wyoduner you have earned a honorary spot in the Gilbert, AZ Posse as well as a spot on Team Arrowhead (we are needing a new rider as the last one got roosted and blew his $hit up (IE roostqueen )

Back to the topic, if you cant contribute to this thread in a positive manner (differing opinions are always welcome) then simply dont reply. I dont know Knutz but I do know he is well respected in the ATV areas and one of the top DS engine builders. Treat others as you wish to be treated.

Knutz, thats kinda surprising. I was really hoping this machine would feel like a hopped up 400ex for the same price. I ride mostly woods and trails so that would be right up my alley. I was going to put some money down on one this weekend but now I just don't know.
