I'm not from the area, but I did get a chance to ride up there last fall at Moon Rocks, near Spanish Springs. That's a great ride area. Have you been there? Are there other good places to ride around there?

I am from the other side of the sierras from reno, about 100 miles away. Where do you ride? We will be out at sand mtn. for memorial day weekend, should be fun. Do you know of any good riding areas around the reno area? Where is the area trxter is talking about? Sean

It's just north of Sparks. There's lots of wide open stuff, as well as winding hillside trails. I'd like to go beck up there this fall, maybe Oct.?

The Moonrocks are just 6 miles south of Pyramid Lake off of Pyramid Highway. If anyone needs directions on how to get there take Pyramid Highway North and exit Winnemucca Ranch Rd (only goes left) and take Winnemucca for one Mile. You will see the moonrocks off to your left. Theres many places to ride out there including a 1/4 mile section of just woops..

Anyone interested in going riding out there email me.. anufsed@nvbell.net

Do you know of any good riding areas up in the sierras? I love forest roads. Desert is OK but always way too dusty. Anybody ridden out of prosser? Sean

We ride & camp in the Stanislaus Nat Forest quite a bit. Just this week I discovered a new place (new to me) called Bear River Lake Resort. It's on 88 just West of Kirkwood. I'm going up there for a day/scouting trip in June and am planning as extended weekend trip for Aug. They've got a meb site @www.bearriverlake.com. Check it out.

snowho, Did you hear the news Thursday night. They have some land in Sparks that someone decided to build a MX track. I think I will go to the city meetings to see if it is going to be strictly for bikes or if they will be including ATV's as well. If that's the case I will be ordering my lowering kit and 1-1/4 extended swing arm real soon!
