I just bought a 98' Warrior and I was wondering what to watch out for as far as maintenance items. I have heard that the tie rod ends suck and to keep a couple with me on the trails. I ride mainly at Wayne National Forest in Athens, Ohio, which is predominantly woods and trail riding. Is there anything else I should look out for? I ride pretty aggressively.

Never had any trouble or heard anything about the tie rods or ends

One of my peeves about the warrior is the chain adjustment, I left the top bearing carrier bolt loose once by accident, it egged out the carrier and the swingarm, I replaced the swingarm but it still loosens easily and wont stay straight no matter how hard I step on the wrenches - So Make sure that sucka is tight.

Watch the stock belly skid, mine bent up into the motor and started to rub on the cases. Just get a full skid

When you replace the rear axle bearings, every other time replace the center spacer inside the carrier otherwise the bearings wont last if you over tighten the axle nuts. Use locktite on the axle nuts.

Make sure you get a rear skid plate that covers the shock linkage, mine bent - shock too.

I had a lower balljoint fall out of one of the a - arms, but that was my fault, the a-arms should have been replaced long ago - its a 94, with alot of miles on it.
