I did it with alot of trial and error. My ending setup is like this; pro design flange with the air box cut completely off of it, k&n on each side of the flange. Sorry I don't have part # but if you want to try this get filters with 2.5" id opening and either angled or offset opening. Mine are angled like 10.5 degrees and have a opening of 2.25 which is a little to small. I tried them on the carbs and the carbs are just too close together. How ever you end up doing it use the velocity tubes. I thaught about using a 2.5" od peice of pipe to put in the end of the tubes but using the front of the airbox gave me a solid mounting braket. I left the two pins in the front of the box and drilled a hole in each one to put a cotter pin through. I have not jetted yet because I can't find any, but I have some on order that should be here this week.

Look here!

I will check the filter # tonight and post tomorrow.
jetting was dynojet 148/150 needle clip in 3rd slot from top.

Trinity recommends stock jets 172.5/175 and stock needle in 4th clip position.

K&N filter # RD-0720.
I got mine from Trinity with Outerwears.

After a weekend at Glamis my filters were cleaner than when I had an airbox with the lid off.

Cheapest way to bring your raptor alive is:
1. Take off the snorkel.
2. Cut the bottom side of the snorkel tunnel out.
3. Cut a large hole in the lid.
4. Cover the hole with outerwears waterproof cover and cement glue it.
5. With stock pipe on buy a stage 2 dynojet kit. Put in the 148/150 mains, turn the fuel screw out three turns from all the way in and place the needle clips at the number four slot from top.
6. drill two holes through the white plastic filter mount into the front side of the airbox. use two small stainless nuts and bolts to secure the filter mount to the front of the box.
7. Remember to grease the air filter mounting surface to keep out the dirt.
8. Go to any harley shop and buy a crankcase breather filter since you eliminated the snorkel.
9. Trash your stock filter and buy a high flow Power foam filter(no junk K&n).
This set up will cost you about 105 bucks.
Compare that to a prodesign lid removal kit with K&N filter and Jet kit($210)
My set up is good for about four extra noticeable horsepower. You may want to get a 12 tooth front sprocket after the mod. The Raptor becomes scary quick in third gear otherwise.

CJM660,
filters = $33 each
Outerwears = $12 each
2.5" od adapters = $3 each from LOWS (shop vac adapters)
aluminum 2" angle stock with zip ties. (probably $10 for 6 feet)

jetting was dynojet 148/150 needle in third slot for cold weather and 146/148 needle in 4th slot for warm weather at sea level.

stock header with HMF slip-on.

The #1 place to buy these parts are in a subscription to Dirtwheels Magazine. My favorite distributors have been www.gopartsdirect.com and Recreation unlimited. These two distributors do not charge shipping for orders over $100 and they tend to beat every body on price. However, check out Hy-tech-atv.com as well. These guys have certain parts dirt cheap but they do charge shipping. If you want more power look at the LRD and Curtis Sparks Raptor complete exhaust systems. These two pipe kits are fantastic.
