<< I to was at sand lake on saturday and they were slow, piped 400 ex were beating them up the first bowl. >>
Wow, I guess everybody thats read about them, rode them, raced them, even developed them is wrong then huh? Slower than a 400ex, Sure. You must be the kinda guy that'll pass a Vette on the Highway, and tell all his friends he waxed one, that that vette just couldn't keep up with your Ford pickup.

Unique.....From my experience with no lid and the stock exhaust (even with baffle removed), I suspect you are down on power.....maybe not really down on peak power, but everywhere else. Put the lid back on (of course cut the snorkle tabs if you already have'nt), check the plug after a hard pull, and jet accordingly.
2 Lengths is pretty close.

Suzuki cant hang with the big dogs? maybe not atv wise, but look at sportbikes, there kicking major ***, first year out for their new gixxer line, it had everyone running, it beat honda, yami, everyone! and look at their hayabusa...so id say zook can hang with the "big dogs" and beat them, its more like yamaha etc. cant hang with the big dogs, cuz the 1000, 600, and 750 are the best in class....

I thought I would jump in here and give my thoughts on the new z400.I spent a little time on one this past weekend these are my thoughts, motor has very smooth power likes to be reved up.The handleing is very good and the sus. is also very good.I think that this bike will be a big sellar. As far as it being fast stock. no, it is faster then a 400ex.SPARKS is building a pipe as we speak I think that a pipe and rev box and a key way and this thing will be a contender.Or big bored and a little stroke and a cam ,fcr, some alc. for that fcr and that should do it!Lyle

i like this post i have noticed many people just exchangine info and when somone says blah blah zuki sucks blah most people just act like they didnt notice most of these z 400 raptor things have turned into pissing matches with no actually info this is a good one and i think that the z 400 is held back it is out of the drz400s 33 horse not the drz400 which pumps 39 or 40 stock and even the drz400 is held back at 39 so this thing need some help to get goin cams and pipe will bump it right up to 42 or 43 it will always be a lil slower than a raptor it is only two thirds of the size so i think it is performing admirably by running just behind stock raptors

<< yeah I've seen the Z in action as well over the weekend, however lets face it So-suckie,AKA Suzuki has never been able to compete with the big dogs like Yamaha or Honda and we all know that Suzuki has the worst resale value of any of the machines. It's like buying something that you won't be able to give away 5 years from now. I would like to see a tricked out Blaster or 300 EX smoke one of them, that would be funny. >>
You dont think my Quadzilla 500R will tear your Banshee a new a$shole??
Anytime you would like to meet @ glam to see how the Zilla competes with your "big dog", you let me know. You are ignorant.
Watch the big single put the twins to shame.

OK I'll give Suzuki some credit on the race bike ( street version )
as for off road that's a different story, if it wern't for Pastrana
Suzuki wouldn't have a winning bike. ( motocross version ) As for the ATV's, 4WD version; Kawasaki has the lead with the 650 Prarie and as for the sport version we all know that Yamaha has it in the bag with the Banshee, lets face it you have to double the CC's of a 4-stroke to equal the power of a 2-stroke. 4-strokes weigh more and lack the power ban of the 2-stroke, take the fact that the 4-stroke 250F has to compete in the 125cc 2-stroke races ( motocross ) and the 426/450 four stroke bikes compete in 250cc 2-stroke races
( motocross ) Yeah the resale on the Blaster sucks. LOL
There is no way that a 4-stroke Z-400 is going to beat the 4-stroke 660cc Raptor, your talking about 260 less cc's and not to mention it's a Yamaha.
