What clip position did you move it to? Whats your main jet settings at now? What was it doing before you leaned the needles? Has this corrected your problem? What elevation are you riding at? TIA

I've got mine moved up one notch. With 27.5 pilots and 170/175 mains it runs perfect. FYI, I'm at 1100 feet.

First, the symptom of a rich needle (mine is Dyno-jet) on my machine is a very slight stumble when letting off the gas when on the needle....the plug agrees this is a rich condition. Also, I am running 148/150 DJ mains with a P-bomb headpipe and an E-series with 14 disks....pro-flo and sparks key as well.
I moved from the prescribed 4th position down too the 3rd position.....I loose half the stumble.....move to the 2nd position....VIOLA! I loose the stumble alltogether, plug is happier, is have more crisp power.....and I am quicker (and should be).

Thanks for the info. I have no stumbling problems. But I was considering moving the clip up 1-2 notches. Wanted to know what you found when doing so.

What does your plug look like after riding around on the needles for a while? If your plug looks good and you have no awkward symptoms.....leaning probably is not gonna help you. If you are lean now....additional leaning could get you into trouble

Why are you running such a wide main jet spread with the DJ main jets (150-155)?

I have noticed over time that the dynojet needles seem to be "problematic", seems like each time I change something (like no airbox lid, or pro-flow setup) I almost have to go back to square one, you should have to richen the mix with no airbox lid but dynojet stuff just doesnt seem to follow the natural progression, most of the engine builders dont use dynojet, using massive mikuni jets and stock needle (180->190) with good results, calling dynojet for help is a waste of time. I think i'll be switching back to stock needles and large jets, you may want to try that if your still having problems

I thaught that I would switch to the Mins, try getting them. I have had a 175 and a 170 on order for 3 weeks, backordered. I have Mins in now but switched filters and need to go up and can't get them. How do you tell the difference in DJ needles and stock ones?

Gary. I am on the rich side as we speak. This is due to running the 150/155 mains and I now ride at 4-6000' all the time due to the deserts of Southern California being to hot this time of year. Considering moving my clip up a notch or 2 to lean some at low rpm due to running with no lid. Only because Dyno jet told someone here to do that if they run with no lid. Somthing about less airflow at low RPM when running with no lid. Thought I'd give it a try. I might even go to the 146/148 combo because it will be a while before I can ride at sea level again. Its easier to change needle position that mains.

The reason for the bigger spread on the Dyno Jet mains is that once you go above 150 they only come in increments of 5.

Ward,

Dyno Jet needles are tapered more and are pointier than the stock needles
