Hey guys,I have a 02 raptor (stock).I am thinking of a k&n filter and a slip on pipe. Will it improve anything noticable or just be louder? Also, what are some of the good pipes.I am a new rider and not up to speed with all of the good brands.I am very pleased with buying a raptor.

Yes, you will need to rejet. They both should give noticeable power, or at least thats what everyone on here says.

If your going to spend the money for the K&N get the Pro Design adaptor kit with a K&N. Much better mounting design than stock.

You will notice a big diffrence over stock with a slip-on. I'm partial to the Sparks X6 pipe, when I put it on my A$$ dyno said WOW !!!!!!
It's a good looking, good sounding, well made pipe.

You may also want to get the Dynojet stage 2 kit. They have a diffrent needle & jet design that I think works well.

Weather you use the Dynojets or stock jets you need to trim the restrictor out of the snorkle, it will let your Raptor breath better.

& yes you must rejet. It's not hard. It may take a couple of hours the first time but it gets quicker with pratice. You need to take off the same things (except carbs) to adjust valves & they should be adjusted every 20 hours. Get a factory service manual ($53) & the 02 update ($18) & do all the matinence your self. Working on your quad is part of the fun of owning one.

Yes, you have too re-jet. Rejetting and more power go hand-in-hand. As Moose stated, get a pro-flo or equivalent. The stock air box filter arrangement is pathetic.

Hey AIR....justa a little info, when I was reseaching the Yosh systems, one of techies there advised me the stainless is better for hardknox use, reason is the Ti tends to develop cracks. Sounds like really hard but brittle metal, I know some good welders, but none that have welded on Ti,,,just thought I would throw that your way.
