Ask the THEMOOSE on that. Also look at this way, How long are you planning to keep the Raptor and look at the price of Yamaha oil fliter. Pricey right, so do the math...... And you WILL figure it out.

Sorry to disagree airraptor, But I am a firm believer in changing oil in my truck every 3000 miles & in my Quad every 20 hours.

My Dad bought a 69 Dodge truck new in 68. It has stayed in our family ever since & the oil was changed every 3000 miles.

We are making it into a street rod ( Crown Vic Cop car front end & disc brake rear end, Lowered, ETC) We are using the original 318 engine & when we took it apart (the first time it had been apart) There was no sludge in the oil pan & we didn't even need a ridge reamer to pull the pistons out the top. The truck has over 200,000 miles on it!!

I will continue to change my oil every 3000 miles & 20 hours. It's cheap insurance & I have seen the results first hand!

Yea 3000 miles is an arbitrary number, Most of my miles are Hiway so I really don't need to change my oil that often it's just a habit I guess! Since I've been working on motors since I was 10 it's a habit that I'll probably never break.

I change the oil in my raptor every 10 hours, the oil in my truck every 10,ooo miles. Still running at 172,000 and never adding between changes. It is getting almost a quart low in 10K. maybe i am just getting lucky.

I can't believe you ONLY have 200k miles on theat 69 pickup, I've got 183k on my '00 volvo 660, of course that get oil changed every 30K miles, you'd think I could extend the changes a bit more with sythetic no?
