Louisiana Sand Dunes.

A few of us went out to the La. Dunes with great results with all the bikes. First off, I went there with my stock tires on my Raptor. Sand tires will be on the to do list!!! Great riding place with a very cool lakes to relax in after a long hot day. The only two bikes that I didn't see was the LTZ400 or a Cannondale. All other sport-quads were present. No accidents or scuffles about who's bike is better, just plain old fun in the sandbox. Off-road for life!!!

I didn't know there was dunes in La. I am from CA. and spent years out at Glamis. Now I live in east Tennessee and would love to play in the sand again. How many acres are there to ride? Do they charge to ride? Me and some freinds might come down and stay a few days and play.

Since this was my first time at any dunes it seemed pretty awesome. Guess, just the excitement of playing in a sandbox. I'm unsure about the acerage, but it probably isn't near the size of the CA. dunes. It's located near Forest Hill off of US.49. It's the only place in LA. that I've heard of with sand. The charge is $15 per bike or $25 for the wknd.(Fri-Sun).

I have been a few times and had alot of fun there. If I had to take a guess I would say 400 acres, this is just a guess I might be way off. The only problem I have with it are there are no jumps to speak of. Some people that go there complain because it is rough. They have alot of drag racing if thats your thing. I have always had a good time there lots of friendly people.

I think they are man made. They are just off of hwy 165, right before you get to the McNary city limits (speed trap town). if you take the Forrest Hill exit off of I-49, it takes you right to hwy165, then take a left and go south on 165.. not sure how far, maybe 5 miles? It isn't far.
There used to be some dunes out on the Ft. Polk military reservation me and my dad rode in all the time.. it was called Blue Hole. The Army decided to change that and somehow managed to make grass grow
I haven't been to La. Dunes, but pass by all the time.
