Which Mio trail? There's the Bull Gap system that's accessible directly from the town of Mio, or the Meadows East Loop which is southwest of Mio? We rode the Bull Gap trail the 3rd weekend of May and it was rather dry. The St Helen Motor Sport Area is about 3 miles southeast of St. Helen with the parking lot right on the county line. Get off at the St. Helen exit and head north. Join the CCC and you'll get a 60+ page book of maps of all the trails in MI, L.P. and U.P. Maps show approximate trail lengths, parking lot locations, are updated every two years or so, and tell you trail width (ATV or single track for bikes only). If you're heading north you can make a little detour in Flint and pick up the CCC map book at Rocky's Cycle Shop. Only a mile east off I-475 at the Bristol Rd. exit.

To get to the St. Helen scramble area get off at the St. Helen exit 222 and turn right. After you go through town the road will start to sweep to the left. Right as the road starts to sweep left there is a road that goes off to the right and you'll cross railroad tracks. As soon as you cross railroad tracks turn right on to Central Road. There is a VFW right there with a tank in the front yard. The scramble area is a mile or two down on your right.

mich660griz,
Check out CCC for the clubs website. Membership also includes a monthly "magazine" of about 24-30 pages with info on upcoming rides, changes in trails, classifieds, etc. You can also call them at (517) 569-9999. Outstanding group of people looking out for our right to ride.
