Whats the most well-rounded hi-per quad available on the market today?

I dont mean the fastest,or best acceleration,or best handling.

I mean the quad that handles well,is purdy fast, and accelerates well.

Thanks.

Affordable, reliable, not the fastest, no reverse, great handling: Honda 400ex

Same price, faster, ligher, and reverse: suzuki Z400

Sand dunes: Yamaha Banshee, bombardier DS650 (bigger)

Trails: z400, 400ex, raptor.

MX: cannondale cannibal, speed, blaze, moto.

I would look at the new Z400 Suzuki or the new Kawasaki KXF400. Small in size ,great handling ,outstanding engines ,low price.

And get over it the 400 EX is a has been dinosaur,It's dead, stick a fork in it.That's all she wrote!
Honda parlayed the 400 EX off of the success of the 250R ,made it look like one handle sorta like one, Put in whatever engine they had laying around since the early 70's and and sent it out the door.
The 400 EX is as dead as 3 wheelers , Wait atleast some 3 wheelers had reverse and liquid cooling in 1985!!!!.
But you will always have Billy Bob and his wife(1rst cousin)who will ride them and claim them to be the best ever.
But always bring up the rear.

If price is not an issue than I would say the Raptor hands down. Electric start and reverse. Hundreds of aftermarket parts available. May not be the best at any one segment of riding but does everything well. Very fast and can easily be made faster. A very versatile machine. I have had one for 15 months and I beat the snot out of it. Never had a problem. I have to say I am unintentionally bias because I own a raptor. The new suzuki probably isn't to far off but I have never rode one.

I would have to say a Cannondale Cannibal, if you really don't care about reverse (which I don't). Something cheaper with reverse - I would go with the Suzuki or Kawasaki. However the Cannibal is faster, quicker, and handles better. That's why I will be buying one.

for best value: clean, cheap '00-01 400EX.
Best Quad: Cannondale

the Suzi looks promising

I saw that new suzuki run this weekend in aledo first hand. It helds its own on the drag strip, ripped through the woods and tore up the mx track. I also saw a cannibal run too and it did everything thing the suzuki did just a little faster.
