Started in the sport about 5 years ago when I was talking with one of my wife's co-workers at a Christmas Dinner. We were talking about a trip I had made to Pismo Beach the last President's day weekend and rented a couple quads and had a great time. He told me he had a couple quads that he purchased from the winery (he and my wife work at.) I guess they buy 20 new quads each year and use them for two years before selling them (at any given time they have 40 quads on the ranch.) So, I asked how much they were and sight unseen I said, can I get my name on the list for two of them. Apparently, they are only looking to get what the dealer would give them for trade-in value.

So, I started out with two (2) Polaris Trail Boss 250 2-strokes. Bought these used from the winery my wife works at for $1200 each. Sold one for $2000 and bought two more for $1250 each. Bought the DS last year then sold two more of the Trail Boss 250's. Bought my wife a used 1999 Warrior last year with Paddle tires for $3500 then Bought my daughter an LT-80 for Christmas and sold the last 250 shortly after that. All the 250's sold for $1950-$2200 so I didnt have much cash out of pocket as I upgraded quads.

This year the winery turns over the Trail Boss 325 4-strokes so, I will probably pick up a couple of them and then sell them for a quick profit again.

I am looking to get my wife a new quad, thinking Raptor, Z-400, Predator, DS400 (or 450, whatever they come out with.)

I would also like to upgrade to the lighter DS650 if it keeps the same frame dimenisons this next year.

This inexpensive winter sport has got very expensive, not to mention the Weekend Warrior and the Excursion to pull it (Ouch). That is o.k. though since the Wife wanted the trailer.

I have owned more than my share, that's for sure.

I have owned probally just over 30 ATVs since I started out in the three wheeler days. i sat down a while back and tried listing them all but gave up and took to the Seagram's 7 Crown instead.

Currently I am left with near nothing. I have sold every ATV I had since December, but still have the Cannibal left that I race with.

It's not mine indefinatly, but i do have the option to buy it after the race season..OR just take another new model for the next year. Right now, i'm still deciding. The Cannondale is a blast and is nothing like anything else out there. It's not the best at everything, but for racing purposes only, I haven't found a better ride yet that suited my riding style....plenty of power and suspension to make up for my constant mistakes..LOL

My first quad was a 92 Suzuki Lt80. Still have that one, but it's currently not running. After that I got a Timberwolf 4x4, sold that and got a Yamaha Blaster. After that, I got a Honda 250R, which I sold to get a new engine for my truck. Now, hopefully, I'm going to get a new Wolverine.
